Viacom Stations Group chief Reynolds calls it quits

MUMBAI: Fredric Reynolds who was Viacom Television Stations Group president and was on track to become CBS CFO following the Viacom corporate split next year, will instead leave the company.

He will join an investment firm Evercore that is run by former US Treasury Secretary Roger Altman.

Reports state that Reynolds was the head of Viacom Television Stations Group, the largest station group in the US since 2001. Viacom apparently was taken by surprise by the move.

While it had never been announced officially, Reynolds was considered the leading candidate to be named CBS CFO after Viacom completes its plan of splitting CBS, Paramount Television and other broadcast-based assets apart from Paramount Pictures and the MTV Networks group next year. His departure leaves the company with two positions to be filled.
