After Delhi and Mumbai, Hungamathon to hit Kolkata

MUMBAI: After a foot thumping response to the Mumbai and Delhi Hungamathons, Hungama TV now brings the 'Only-For-Kids' run to Kolkata. The Hungamathon will be held on 19 February near the Victoria Memorial.
"Over 20000 kids ran in the Mumbai and Delhi Hungamathon, bringing the event to Kolkata was a logical extension as it happens to be a strong viewership market for us. We feel that the response from the kids in Kolkata will be overwhelming," said UTV senior vice president marketing and corporate communications Siddharth Roy Kapur.
As in Mumbai and Delhi, the run has been divided into two age categories - Masters for 8 to 12 year olds. Olds and Blasters for 13 to 15 year olds. While the Masters would run a distance of 2.5 kms, the Blasters would burn the 4 km track.
The winners will be awarded with a citation and a medal and would also earn points for their school. The school with the maximum number of points across the above categories will win the Inter-school 'Hungamathon' rolling trophy.
To add colour to the event, special prizes would be handed out to kids who land up in the most outlandish and whacky outfits. Kids will also have the opportunity to meet their favorite Hungama TV characters and interact with them. A celebrity flag-off, interactive game stalls and live performances would be the other highlights of the event.
An intensive school contact program covering 100 schools has rolled out in the city to encourage not just the students but also the principals and Physical Training (PT) teachers to nominate their best students to compete for the interschool trophy. Application forms would also be available online on www.hungamatv.com.
A mass media campaign spanning print, radio and on-ground would be rolled out in the next few days.
