Mumbai: Zee Caf??s ecological initiative Green Turn has turned out to be a huge success. The Green turn initiative touched upon people from various walks of life.

Many movie buffs had a different experience on June 5th. Apart from the conventional dose of entertainment from the movie, they felt a sense of contentment by contributing their bit to Mother Earth. More than 550 saplings were distributed at various Cinemax multiplexes across Mumbai, Delhi and Pune. Cinemax multiplexes had Zee Caf??s Green Turn stalls on June 5th, where patrons adopted a sapling and took The Green Oath to protect and nurture the same.

Green Turn initiatives also went out to spread awareness amongst Mocha Coffee customers across their Mumbai, Delhi and Pune outlets. Around 350 customers went home happy having taken The Green Oath.

Nonetheless, various celebrities also contributed actively in supporting the cause. Well known Bollywood actor, Aditya Pancholi took The Green Oath, adopted the sapling and lauded the initiative taken by Zee Cafe. Veteran actors Farida Jalal and Akhilendra Mishra appreciated the noble cause taken up by Zee Caf?. The Green Turn initiative reached out to people of various age groups and was able to create awareness about the alarming rate of deforestation and the need to preserve our environment.

In a bid to cut down its carbon footprint, Hard Rock Caf? had partnered with Zee Caf? and hosted a Green Turn Unplugged night on 7th June across the cities of Mumbai, Delhi and Bengaluru. In keeping with the promise of making the world a greener place, the Green Turn Unplugged initiative saw Hard Rock Caf? playing host to bands Dischordian (Mumbai), Suahil & Adi (Delhi) and Pushing Tin (Bengaluru) who gave only live acoustic performances for the night. The pepped up crowd of Hard Rock Caf? expressed sensitivity towards ecology and showed keen interest in making greener Earth. More than 500 patrons across Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru volunteered for the cause.

Zee Caf? had also tied up with GreenNGood.com?s Plant A Tree drive. Hard Rock Caf??s Mumbai and Delhi outlets had GreenNGood.com stalls; wherein patrons donated 60 and adopted a sapling, facilitating the plantation of a tree in Southern Rajasthan, one of India?s worst deforested zones. As a part of this initiative, each patron received a certificate stating his commitment to having taken a Green Turn and would receive periodic updates of the project?s growth.

The Zee Caf? initiative Green Turn was able to touch upon more than 1300 people, and make them realize that the world has reached a stage where the natural disasters that have been occurring are not ?natural? anymore. Human beings and our creations are the cause of these disasters. It?s time to stop, think, act and take a stand.
